Why You Only Need To Know 3 Things About On Page SEO
There are many out there who would try to tell you that on page SEO is complex and that search engine optimisation is a simple matter of using your target keywords correctly. This is and isn’t the case, you need to do more than simply have your keywords in the right place, you need to make sure your site is crawlable, that internal links are structured correctly and obviously you need links, plain and simple.
Creating a keyword focus on your page has a good impact and doesn't mean you need to read about SEO for the next year. Unless you don't have clue I would never recommend paying someone for this alone. In my opinion on page SEO is as simple as 3 steps, there are 3 different places you need to focusing your SEO efforts on.
The first is your title tag, this is the most important aspect of on page search engine optimisation and any good SEO service will tell you this. If you really want a ranking impact try making sure your title tag is fully optimised. Doing this will ensure you have the right amount of focus by making your title keywords prominent and uncluttered.
Second place is the main body, many think headings need to be optimised but this in my opinion has now lost value and will do little for rankings. Instead concentrate on using multiple variations of your keyword in the body text of your page, make it look natural but try and use the variations consistently.
An area that has recently been proven to increase Google rankings is the use of the ALT attribute in images, if you have a lot of images on your page make sure you use different variations as using the same keyword over and over again may result in a penalty.
No matter what SEO blog you decide to read, these really are the main areas of on page optimisation and making sure these areas are optimised will result in greater rankings and more traffic.
