Making Money with Web Affiliate Programs

November 29th, 2009

Anyone who has done any research on Web marketing knows there are plenty of rip-offs. Unfortunately, marketers with no morals take advantage of the abundance of inexperienced people who are looking for financial freedom. It’s a shame, because millions probably get duped into spending money unnecessarily, only to get involved with scams or at least bad business ideas that line marketers’ pockets and leave buyers with nothing. Fortunately, there are ways you can make money on the Web with no up-front investment. This should be good news to those who have been ripped off by Internet schemes!

But sometimes one person’s scam is another person’s opportunity. A good example of this is the recent controversy over an web business-in-a-box, called site Build It. Some people think that one or more people have written a review of SBI that was misleading. The owner stepped forward to defend himself and he might be right about his product being on the up-and-up. But it would be up to any potential buyer to do his or her own research.

One of the main ways I like to make money online is above-board and also fairly simple to implement. I write for money on HubPages. HubPages — a community blogging site — makes it quite simple to create content and generate ad revenue. The number of HubPages “hubs” (pages) you create is up to you. Each hub you create can make up to five types of affiliate marketing revenue: eBay and Amazon products and services, Google AdSense and Kontera ads, and your own affiliate link(s). You get the revenue from 60 percent of the page views that generate revenue and the people who own HubPages get 40 percent. The exception to that would be if you implemented an affiliate program; you get 100% of any income generated by someone clicking on an affiliate link. It takes a while to get good at creating money-making hubs but the revenue you can generate over time makes it worth it.

There are many affiliate programs out there but I like to use RevResponse on my hubs, because people who sign up get great free information. When anyone clicks on your links and qualifies to receive free RevResponse publications or white papers, you benefit financially. That’s all there is to it. Qualifying is not a shoe-in though, so that aspect is important to understand. To learn more about the RevResponse rules, read this affiliate review. The information in the review will help you know whether the RevResponse program is right for your readers.
